The experience myth

You have more experience than you think.

Most beginners believe they need admin experience, a portfolio full of client work or a resume with all the right keywords. Without those, they assume clients will take one look and pass. So they wait. They watch more videos. They tell themselves they’ll start when they feel ready.

That’s the myth, and it stops more people from starting than anything else I’ve seen in this industry.

Most clients aren’t checking credentials. They’re overwhelmed business owners with too much to do and not enough hours. To them, experience means three things:

  • Clear communication
  • Organization
  • Follow-through
Kept the family calendar running
Clients call it Calendar management
Answered emails at work
Clients call it Inbox management
Planned the group trip
Clients call it Travel booking
Calmed down an upset customer
Clients call it Customer service
Compared ten options before buying one
Clients call it Research
Typed up the sign-up sheet
Clients call it Data entry
All of it counts.Module 1

What’s inside

Six modules. Six worksheets.

No long lectures. No homework that takes hours. Every module is a short video and a worksheet, and the worksheets are the real work. That’s where the clarity happens, so don’t skip them.

Module 2 · Real talk

Three fears almost every beginner has.

“Won’t AI just replace VAs?”

AI is changing what VAs do, not whether clients need them. AI can draft an email. It can’t know this client hates Monday double-bookings. You’re not competing with AI. You’re going to be the person who uses it best.

“What if I make a mistake and get fired?”

Every VA makes mistakes, including me. I once accidentally committed a client to $150,000 of Super Bowl tickets. (The full story is in Module 2.) What gets VAs let go isn’t an honest error. It’s hiding it, or going quiet.

“Will this become real income?”

Most VAs start with one client and a modest rate. That’s normal, and temporary. Sustainable income comes from showing up consistently, raising your rates as you grow and adding clients over time.

“Fear doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. It usually means you’re about to do something that matters.”

Module 6 · Your starting point

Leave with one clear starting point.

Offering everything dilutes your pitch. One starting point creates focus and confidence. By the end of VA Ready, you’ll have a Starting Point Statement: one sentence that says who you help and how.

Try a first draft right here. In the course, you’ll build the real one from your own skills inventory, then say it out loud.

Stuck? Borrow an idea.

Your Starting Point Statement

I am a VA who helps busy real estate agents with inbox and calendar management so they can spend more time with clients.

A note from Erin

Hi, I’m Erin.

I’m not above you in this. I’m one step ahead, turning around and pointing the way.

I’ve been doing this since 2012. I’ve watched thousands of people start exactly where you are right now: unsure if they’re ready, wondering if their skills count, wondering if this is actually real.

VA Ready is the same process I’ve walked beginners through for 14 years, written down so you can do it yourself, today.

Common questions

Before you start.

Is VA Ready for me?

It’s for aspiring VAs who aren’t sure they’re ready, aren’t sure their skills count, or keep waiting to feel ready before they start. If you already know what you offer and want to build the business, go straight to the VA Business Blueprint.

Do I need experience to become a VA?

No. Most clients aren’t checking credentials. They’re looking for someone reliable, communicative and capable of following through. Module 1 helps you see, on paper, the skills you already have.

How long does it take?

About 60 minutes, start to finish. Six short videos and six worksheets. Do it in one sitting, or one module at a time.

How much time will I need each week once I start?

Even 3–5 hours a week is enough to build something real. Module 3 helps you find those hours in your actual week, not an imaginary one.

Will AI replace virtual assistants?

AI is changing what VAs do, not whether clients need them. Clients want someone who knows their business, their tone and their preferences, and can be trusted to make judgment calls. You’re going to be the person who uses AI best.

What happens after VA Ready?

You’ll leave with your Starting Point Statement. When you’re ready to turn it into a real, paying business, the VA Business Blueprint is the next step.

Ready?

Confidence comes after you start. Not before.

An hour from now, you could have a clear, decided starting point. Most people never get this far.
